    Gold Coast Seaway at Night

    April 11, 2011 1 min read

So we kicked off the Griffith University Dive Season by jumping in the Seaway for a refreshing Night Dive!

For those who don't know, or have never dove the Seaway before, it is an Estuarine system that reaches a max depth of around 20 metres and can be separated into 5 main areas; South Wall, South-East Wall, South-West Wall, North-East Wall and Wave Break Island.

On this particular Night Dive we went along the South Wall and visibility was probably 5-6 m. Many people believe the Seaway to be sand and the odd rock however for a location that is accessible to divers 365 days a year it certainly isn’t lacking in diversity or abundance of marine life.

Check out the video of this Dive, oh, and don’t make my mistake – ALWAYS take a spare torch on a Night Dive!
